Creatively Yours and a "tag"

Good morning. Today I have my Creatively Yours layout for the month. I got this amazing sketch from Noella and here is what I did. I used Fancy Pants paper, transparency and die cuts. I also used some Maya Road sheers, American Craft Thickers, Daisy Bucket rubons and my sewing machine.

You must go to the Creatively Yours and see Evelien's take on the sketch. It's amazing!!

Now I have a tag, that I've neglected. The very talented Evelien tagged me with this award.

The rules:
1). Post a link of the person who gave you this award.
2). Nominate 5 other people and give a link to their sites
3). Let your nominators know that they got an award from you.
4). Put a logo of the award on the blog

Here are my 5 tags, some very talented women:

That's it for today. I'm hoping to scrap once I get my little guy to school, we are off to a doctor's appointment. Oh and I'll be back with some news tomorrow or Saturday. Enjoy your day.

Ok really quick post today. Off to the daily grind!

Happy Tuesday and CPS #100

Good morning! Today I have my CPS card to share. They are celebrating their 100th sketch. This sketch was a challenge for me, but I had lots of fun with it. I used some October Afternoon paper and stamps. I've been dying to use these stamps and told myself yesterday was the day! So here is my fall card (my favorite season).

I'm in love with this paper. I think I may have to pick up more before it leaves the stores. I have been trying to figure out what I absolutely *need* from CHA and surprisingly a lot of the paper is not speaking to me. So I may indulge and get some more Weathervane.

Well that's it for today. A busy day looms ahead for me. Have a great one!

2 Sketches 4 You ~January 26

Good afternoon. I'm back! This weekend was lots of fun. We got lots accomplished and had a wonderful dinner with some friends on Saturday. I didn't get to my scrap desk until this morning however. So today I have my 2 Sketches 4 you card. I followed the 2 Sketches DT and had a cupcake theme. I also used up some Basic Grey Sugared. Have to make room for the new stuff *wink*. The rest are Inkadinkado stamps, Spellbinders, stickles, Copic Markers and Savvy'n'Sassy ribbon.

Now I'm also giving you a "head's up". Starting on February 1st and for the next 5 months I'm going to be giving away gift certificates to Savvy'n'Sassy. Yep you read right and I'm not going to make you jump through too many hoops to be entered!! So make sure to check back on February 1st for the first giveaway.

Also, if you live in the Calgary area don't forget to check out the March Madness Crop being held on March 7th. It's going to be fun. Lots of great prizes. The grand prize is a Big Shot donated by Stampin' Up demonstrator Char Smith!!!

Well that's it for today. I'll be back with my CPS card tomorrow. Have a happy Monday.

Some more Patchwork Quilt Creations

TGIF!!

Today is a busy one for me. I'm off on a Grade 4 field trip. I'm sure I'll be tired by the end of the day.

As promised earlier in the week I have some layouts to show you. These are the rest of the creations I did using the Savvy'n'Sassy January Patchwork Quilt kit that you can find here. This was such a fun and "springy" kit to work with. Here is a picture below.

Before we get to the layouts, first I have a tin that I made for my scrap room using Basic Grey Urban Prairie (which this kit matches perfectly).

Now the layouts. First up is a Christmas layout I did using Sassafras Lass Life at the Pole paper. These are my boys visiting Santa.

And next is a fun summer layout using We Are Memory Keepers Nonsense paper and some Prima studs (love these).

I just love this kit. Lots of fun to work with.

Well that's it for today. I hope you all have a great weekend and I'll be back on Monday.

A Hero Arts Card and a layout

Good afternoon.

Well today didn't turn out quite like I expected it but still productive. I have 2 sick little boys home with me. So rather than running around I did a bunch of house work that has been waiting for days. However, I did have time to do a quick card. I decided to attempt the Hero Club Blog challenge for the week. It was to use hearts and of course a Hero Arts Stamp. I used this little tree that I love so much. The paper is some more Fancy Pants and I also used stickles to highlight my tree.

Now I have a layout to share. I did this for a challenge over at Scrapbooker's Club House. A very friendly group of ladies hang out there. The challenge was a winter layout with 3 pictures. So here are my Snow Angels. I used My Mind's Eye paper, Prima Studs, Cuttlebug snowflake templates, Kaiser rhinestones and Tim Holtz Distress ink.

Here is a close up of the Prima studs that I highlighted with snowflakes and rhinestones.

Well that's it for today. I'm off to take care of my little sickies. Have a great evening.

High Hopes Challenge #14

Good morning.

Ok so we all know I have a hard time with masculine cards. Well the challenge over at the High Hopes blog was to do a boy/guy card. No flowers! So I came up with this pretty simple card. I used my little guy and his frog again, one of my favorites and Basic Grey Archaic paper and rubs. I also used my Copic markers and I finally got my blender pen so I got to try that out. I think I figured out the secret to these markers and it's all in the paper you use. What I used for Prisma's and gamsol doesn't work as well with these. But now that it's figured out I'm much happier with the final product.

Well that's it for today. Have a great day!

2 Sketches 4 You ~January 19

Well another week already! I can't believe it. This week is crazy at our house. Just lots of little appointments and volunteering. I have my 2 Sketches 4 You card today. I decide to make a Valentine's card for my hubby. I used Fancy Pants Splendid line. I just love Fancy Pants paper. It's hard to see in the picture, but the "Adore" is highlighted with Glossy Accents and the rubons and hearts are highlighted with stickles.

Here is a close up of the hearts.

Well that's it for today. Off to the next appointment. Have a great Monday everyone.

CPS Card #27

Happy Sunday!

I was lucky enough to have some time this morning to do a CPS card. This week was reader's choice so I picked sketch number 27. I used Fancy Pants Daily Grind on this one. It just came to me pretty easy. I just cut one of the patterned paper's along the swirls. Pretty easy. Some ink, Savvy'n'Sassy ric rac and some Making Memories stickers and it was all done!

I also tried to work on a few masculine cards. I'll have some to show later in the week. I must say those do not come easily to me.

Oh and finally the big news around here. My littlest boy lost his first tooth this morning. Talk about exciting and a bit of a shock. Our oldest was almost 8 when he lost his first one and our little guy is only 6. They grow up so quickly!

Well I'm off. I'm hoping to get to some more cards tomorrow. But we have a busy week here at our house. Oh but I will be back later in the week with a couple of layouts...gasp!! Have a great Sunday.

RAK winner & a Savvy'n'Sassy creation

Good morning. As promised I have my RAK winner below.

First I have a creation I did with the Savvy'n'Sassy kit. I got to work with the Patchwork Quilt kit. It's very springy and fun. What I did is took one of the Maya Road tins that held my sheers and altered it for a little card holder. I made 4 cards to go with it as well. The paper is Fancy Pants Arctic Chill. I also used
Stamping Bella Stamps, Martha Stewart edge punch and Copic Markers.

Ok and now on to the RAK:

Random Sequence Generator

Here is your sequence:

AMANADA!!! Congrats. I'll get your address and mail this out to you.

High Hopes Challenge #13

It's half way through the week!! Today I'm off to read with Grade one children. That's always fun.

I have my High Hopes Challenge to share today. We had to use dry embossing on our cards. I made a pretty simple one this week. I used some Basic Grey Offbeat, Cuttlebug Swiss dots embossing folder, Stickles, Kaiser rhinestones, Fiskars threading water punch and my Copic markers.

Just a quick post today. Have a great day. I'm hoping to be back tomorrow with some Savvy'n'Sassy projects and I'll announce the winner of the RAK. You can still enter here.

CPS Card #99

Happy Tuesday! Today I have my CPS card based on sketch #99. I went a different route with this card. I decided to make the front part of the sketch the front part of the card. You can get a better idea of what I mean by looking at the second picture. Today, more Basic Grey only this time it's Offbeat. I also used some Tim Hotlz Distress Stickles for the first time. I love stickles but these come out chunkier than the original so it's a learning curve for me, LOL.

Also, head over to Creatively Yours. They are running a challenge for FOUR guest designers for February and March. There is an awesome sketch to work with too.

I'm anxiously awaiting my Savvy'n'Sassy package and my January ribbon kits (and some other things too, LOL). I'll be back tomorrow with my High Hopes Challenge.

2 Sketches 4 You ~January 12

Good morning. I hope you all had a great weekend. This morning I had a chance to play with Laura's sketch over at 2 Sketches 4 You. I used some Basic Grey Urban Prairie that's been sitting on my desk for awhile.

I have been thinking for the past couple of days of my "word" for 2009. Ali Edwards inspired me to do this. Check out her blog. So after much consideration my word is perseverance. It just seems fitting for me this year.

Well that's it for today. I hope you have a great start to your week. Don't forget about the RAK in this post here. You have until January 15th to enter.

TGIF! Today no scrappy stuff but I do have a peek at the new ribbon kits for January over at Savvy'n'Sassy. They are yummy. They should be up for sale next week. I can't wait to get my hands on them.

Well that's it for today. Short and sweet. Have a great weekend and I'll be back on Monday.

High Hopes Challenge #12

Good morning. I hope you are all getting through the first week back after holidays. Today I have a card for the High Hopes Challenge #12. The challenge was to use torn paper somewhere on your design. I love High Hopes Stamps, they are the cutest. This little guy is my favorite I think. I decided I needed some masculine cards, and seeing as they are harder for me to do I thought I'd better get a going, LOL. Other than the High Hopes stamp I also used Sassafrass Lass paper, Coredinations cardstock, American Crafts metal, Tim Holtz Distress Ink, Copic markers, Prismas & gamsol and my sewing machine.

That's it for today. Oh and don't forget about the RAK in this post. Have a great day everyone.

Some Thank you cards

Good morning. Happy Hump day!! I hope your first week back to the daily grind is going well. I love my routine. I find I just work so much better that way.

Today I have 4 cards to show you. I totally ran out of thank you cards over the holidays and I have to replenish my stash. The lovely Dalis posted a challenge over at Savvy'n'Sassy to do 4 thank you cards. You can find the post here. Well here is what I came up with. I used some of the Basic Grey Offbeat paper (thank you Linda!!), Savvy'n'Sassy ribbon, Imaninisce stamps, Hero Arts stamps and some American Craft chipboard. I came up with this little set. Very bright and cheery, perfect for the winter blahs.

Ok I'm off, have a great day everyone! And don't forget about the RAK in the previous post.

2 Sketches 4 You ~January 6th & a RAK

Good morning all. Here is my 2 Sketches 4 You card. I played around with Basic Grey Offbeat this time. Love this paper. It's hard to see but I used some Ranger Glossy Accents on the background.

Now for the RAK. I have some yummy Savvy'n'Sassy ribbon and some Queen and Co Felt to give away. All you have to do is leave a comment and tell me what your favorite ribbon of all time is and I'll put you into a draw. I'll draw on the 15th.

Have a great day everyone.

A CPS card

Hi again! I had the chance to work on a CPS card. This is my first crack at these. There are some great sketches over there. I used Basic Grey Urban Prairie, Whipper Snapper stamps, nestabilities and my Copic markers. My first "real" attempt using my Copics, still learning how to use them. Sorry the picture is a little blurry.

Just a quick post, I'll be back with my 2 Sketches card tomorrow.

A Savvy'nSassy challenge

Good morning. I hope you are all having a great start to the week. Back to the daily grind! I have a sketch for you today. It's my January challenge over at Savvy'n'Sassy. I created the sketch below and asked the ladies to make 4 cards with it. You can find the post here.

Pretty easy sketch. If you do a card based on the sketch I'd love to see it. Please link it in the comments.

Here are the cards I did using the Prudence collection from Crate Paper. I have to say I had a hard time with this paper. Definitely not me, but it was nice to step out of my comfort zone.

I hope you are all having a great Monday. Take care.

Happy Saturday

Well we are shoveling again at our house. I can't believe this snow! A busy day here. My oldest is having his birthday party. His best bud is coming over for a sleep over. And the big news around here is my littlest guy has a loose tooth!! I can't believe it, they are growing up too fast.

Ok so on to the scrappy stuff, LOL. I had the great pleasure of working with Ali's very first sketch at Creatively Yours. I really enjoyed this sketch. Here is the sketch.

And my creation using Crate Paper, Fancy Pants glitter cuts, American Craft Thickers, Maya Road sheers and Kaiser pearls.

On a sad note one of the Creatively Yours DT has passed away. Beverley Todd was a very talented lady and she also interpreted Ali's sketch. You can see her final layout at Creatively Yours.

Well that's it. Now that most of my housework and baking are done I'm hoping to spend the day at my scrap desk. I'll be back this week with some more creations and a RAK!!!

January SheetLoad

Good afternoon! I've had a busy morning. I've got 3 lasagnas cooked and in the freezer and made some wonderful granola bars (thanks for the recipe Virginia). I'm taking a little break and then I'm off to make a black forest cake from scratch for my oldest son who's birthday party is tomorrow. It was a special request so hopefully I can come through. Oh and I'm in total denial about his birthday, I can't believe he'll be 9!!

The January issue of SheetLoad is ready. I made the cover! LOL. It's based on my sketch. If you do a card I'd love to see it, just link me to your creation.

I made some cards last night, I still have to take a picture. I'll be back tomorrow to show you. Have a great Friday night!

SheetLoad Sneak peek

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Well our New Year's Eve turned out to be a little challenging, two sick little boys. I think they are on the mend this morning so that's good.

I have a sneak peek of the January SheetLoad issue. I was lucky enough to do the sketch this month and play with some really cute stamps. Here are the sneaks below.

Now that we are staying in today I'm planning on scrapbooking. My wonderful DH bought me a new chair for my desk yesterday. It is so comfortable. I'm a spoiled girl, Copic markers and now a new chair.

Well that's it for today. I'll be back hopefully tomorrow with some cards from my Savvy'n'Sassy January challenge.

Have a great New Year's Day!
